To implement the OIC’s communication programmes by delivering current, accurate, and comprehensive information about the Data Protection Act, 2020 and the Access to Information Act, 2002 through the use of dynamic communication and public relations strategies and tools designed to enhance the public’s awareness of their rights to the privacy of their personal data and to access official documents.

Under the direction of the Information Commissioner, the Deputy Commissioner provides strategic leadership and direction for the enterprise-wide operations of the Office of the Information Commissioner (OIC), with specific responsibility for the organization’s technical and administrative functions. The incumbent ensures the effective planning, coordination, and management of programmes and resources to support the achievement of the OIC’s mandate.
